The recovery process for gum contouring is surprisingly quick and painless, even if the whole mouth has been treated. You might find that your gums feel slightly swollen or sore for a few days afterwards, but serious pain should not occur, and you'll still be able to eat and drink. After a week has past, you should no longer feel any discomfort; the entire treatment cycle is over, and you won't need to worry about flashing a gummy smile ever again.

The only caveat is that you will need to keep on top of your oral health in order to reduce the risk of further gum tissue loss, but this is something you should be doing anyway.
